Karachi (HRNW): Chairman of MQM-Pakistan Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that an unpleasant incident occurred last night due to a misunderstanding and an argument among party workers. He added that the party leadership has reviewed the situation and that conditions are now improving.
In a statement, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said the party leadership has taken notice of the situation and steps are being taken to resolve the matter.
According to sources, tensions emerged between groups associated with MQM-Pakistan leaders Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Mustafa Kamal, following which a dispute reportedly took place among workers at the party’s Bahadurabad centre. Reports also suggested that the situation escalated into an alleged armed confrontation.
Following the incident, the MQM-Pakistan Bahadurabad centre was closed as a precautionary measure.
