NCCIA Registers Cybercrime Case Against Former MQM-P Member Zahid Mansoori

Karachi (HRNW): The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2025 against Zahid Mansoori, a former member of the MQM-Pakistan Coordination Committee, over allegations of disseminating anti-state content through social media.

According to the agency, an operation was carried out in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, during which two mobile phones were seized from the suspect. The FIR states that an initial technical examination found the relevant Facebook account active on one of the confiscated devices, leading to the registration of the cybercrime case.

Authorities said the seized devices have been sent for forensic and technical analysis, while further investigation is underway.

According to the FIR, the case is linked to a Facebook page identified as “MQM Pakistan Media,” which is alleged to have published anti-state content.

Sources claim that Zahid Mansoori admitted during questioning that senior figures associated with MQM-Pakistan were involved in the social media campaign and that he had contacts with MQM London for alleged anti-state propaganda. However, these claims have not been independently verified by HRNW or confirmed through court proceedings.

The NCCIA stated that the investigation is being conducted under the relevant provisions of PECA 2025, and further legal action will proceed in accordance with the law.
