Lahore (HRNW): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Lahore has secured a major legal success after a court convicted an accused involved in tampering with judicial records and accepting a bribe.
According to the FIA, the accused manipulated official court records and fraudulently issued a fake acquittal order. Investigators stated that the accused received Rs. 100,000 in bribe in exchange for issuing the forged court order.
The case was registered under FIR No. 117/2013 on charges of corruption and forgery.
The Special Judge Central-II Lahore sentenced the accused to nine months’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 100,000. The court further ordered that if the fine is not paid, the convict will undergo an additional six months of simple imprisonment.
The FIA stated that the successful prosecution of the case was conducted by Assistant Director (Legal) Ms. Iqra Altaf, leading to the conviction.
