Islamabad (HRNW) – Pakistan has formally requested China for the early refinancing of a $1.3 billion commercial loan.
According to available information, Pakistan made external debt repayments totaling $2.2 billion last month, including the repayment of a $1.3 billion Chinese commercial loan.
Sources said the government has sought early refinancing of the loan to help manage the country’s external financing requirements and support its foreign exchange reserves.
Officials stated that, if approved, the refinancing would help ease Pakistan’s external financial pressures and strengthen its foreign exchange reserves. However, the request remains subject to approval and further discussions between the concerned parties.
