Muscat/Strait of Hormuz (HRNW) – A cargo vessel operating near the Strait of Hormuz reportedly came under attack, leaving one engineer missing, according to preliminary reports.
Initial information indicates that a projectile struck the ship’s engine room, triggering a fire that spread to the vessel’s accommodation area. Crew members reportedly worked to contain the blaze while search efforts for the missing engineer continued.
Some reports have also claimed that an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz was struck by a missile shortly before the cargo ship incident. However, HRNW has not independently verified these claims, and no official confirmation has been issued at the time of reporting.
According to available information, the attack occurred approximately 20 miles northeast of Khasab Port, Oman.
