Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran does not seek to further expand the war in the region, but if the country’s sovereignty or borders are threatened, it will take all necessary measures to defend itself.
According to the Iranian state broadcaster IRIB, President Pezeshkian made the remarks while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the second phase of the national family medicine and referral system project, stressing that strengthening national unity and internal stability is essential under the current circumstances.
President Pezeshkian said Iran’s priority is peace, stability, and national development, not war, but emphasized that there can be no compromise on the country’s security.
He stated that the government and the people must work together to build a strong society where external forces cannot interfere in internal affairs, create division, or destabilize the country.
According to the Iranian president, national unity, strong state institutions, and public trust are the key factors in effectively confronting external pressure and security threats.
He added that Iran will continue implementing reforms and development projects across various sectors to strengthen its internal capabilities and ensure the country is prepared to face all challenges.
President Pezeshkian’s remarks come amid continued regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic and military disputes involving Iran, the United States, and other regional powers.
According to political observers, the Iranian president’s latest statement reflects Tehran’s desire to avoid further escalation while reaffirming its determination to adopt a firm stance in defending its national security.
