Washington (HRNW)- The White House has launched a new 24-hour digital streaming platform titled “TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station” on YouTube, providing access to President Donald Trump’s speeches, administration announcements, major events, and other official video content. The White House also hosts the stream on its official website.
According to the White House, the channel is designed to bring major moments from the Trump administration together in one place, with the feed updated continuously and featuring both recent announcements and selected footage from past events.
The platform was launched on September 21, 2026, amid an escalating dispute between the Trump administration and several major US news organizations over White House press access.
The White House recently barred CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from access to the White House following criticism from President Trump over their coverage. The three organizations have filed a federal lawsuit challenging the restrictions and arguing that the administration violated their constitutional rights.
The dispute also affected the traditional White House television press pool. Several major broadcasters suspended pooled coverage after CNN was prevented from carrying out an assigned pool duty.
The new digital platform gives the administration a direct channel for distributing presidential and government video material to the public without relying exclusively on traditional television networks or other news organizations. Its launch adds a new dimension to the ongoing debate over media access and the relationship between the White House and the US press.
