Islamabad (HRNW) – Following the announcement of a strike by goods transporters, the All Pakistan Transporters Association (APTA) has also announced a nationwide strike starting August 8.
Association office-bearers said that the daily fluctuation in diesel prices has made it extremely difficult to operate transport businesses. They stated that the constant changes in fuel prices have made it nearly impossible to accurately calculate operating costs and sustain business operations.
The association further said that increases in toll taxes and withholding tax have added to the financial burden on transporters, significantly affecting the transport sector.
The office-bearers urged the government to immediately address the challenges facing the transport industry and take effective measures to resolve the concerns of transport operators. They warned that the strike decision would remain in place unless their demands are addressed.
