Karachi (HRNW): The Sindh High Court heard a case regarding the non-payment of pension and other retirement benefits of a deceased Health Department employee.
The court expressed strong displeasure over non-compliance with its previous orders and issued fresh notices to all concerned parties.
According to the petitioner’s counsel, Usman Farooq Advocate, the husband of the applicant, Feroz Anwar Khan, was an employee of the Health Department. After his death, his pension and other dues were not released.
The court was informed that it had earlier directed the Secretary Health to deposit the outstanding dues with the Nazir of the Sindh High Court; however, the order has not been implemented to date.
The court noted from the record that its directives were still not complied with and no response had been submitted by the concerned Secretary.
It observed that the conduct of the Secretary amounted to disregard of court orders and reflected serious negligence.
The court directed the Member Inspection Team-II to ensure compliance with its orders.
The hearing was adjourned until June 29.
