Israel Cuts Off Contact with EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas

Tel Aviv (HRNW): Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has announced that he is cutting off all contact with the European Union’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.

According to reports, the decision comes after alleged remarks attributed to Kallas during a private high-level meeting in Mexico City, where she reportedly compared Israel’s treatment of Palestinians to apartheid-era South Africa.

The comments were first reported by the EU-focused news outlet Euractiv, citing diplomats and officials familiar with the discussions.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry has not immediately issued further details regarding the decision, but the move has sparked renewed diplomatic debate between Israel and the European Union.
