Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman Demands Fixed Petrol Price and Announces Nationwide Protest Movement

Lahore (HRNW): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, while addressing a press conference at Mansoorah, demanded that petrol prices be fixed at Rs 225 per litre for three years.

He said that in light of changing regional and global circumstances, the public must be provided relief and petroleum prices should be stabilized for a long-term period.

Hafiz Naeem also called for bringing fuel prices back to the pre-conflict level of 28 February, urging the government to take immediate steps in this regard.

He announced that a series of public rallies and protests across the country will begin from Friday, 19 June, followed by prolonged sit-ins in all four provinces.

During the press conference, he also commented on recent regional developments, saying that shifting global conditions are having an impact on Pakistan, making public relief essential.
