Mexico City, Mexico (HRNW)- Advocacy organizations have called on Mexico City lawmakers to adopt a care framework grounded in disability rights, autonomy, and independent living principles. The proposed legislation aims to shift from charity-based models toward a rights-centered approach aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
If enacted, the law could serve as a regional benchmark for inclusive social protection systems across Latin America.
