Tehran (HRNW)- Formal negotiations between Iran and the United States are set to begin in Switzerland following the signing of the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf expected to lead Tehran’s delegation.
According to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the next phase of talks between the two countries will commence after the signing of the memorandum. He stated that Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf will head the Iranian negotiating team during the upcoming discussions.
According to media reports, the United States delegation is expected to be led by Vice President JD Vance, who is likely to play a central role in the future negotiation process between Washington and Tehran.
Iranian officials said the negotiations in Switzerland will focus on implementing the proposed Memorandum of Understanding and conducting detailed discussions on key issues, including Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions relief, economic cooperation, and broader bilateral concerns.
Political analysts believe that the signing of the memorandum and the launch of formal negotiations could mark a significant diplomatic breakthrough in Iran-US relations. They note that any progress toward a long-term agreement could have far-reaching implications not only for the Middle East but also for global political and economic stability.
With years of tensions between the two countries, the international community is closely watching the anticipated talks in Switzerland, where both sides will seek to advance toward a comprehensive and lasting agreement.
