Karachi (HRNW): Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has inaugurated a modern dual carriageway project from Khuwaja Ajmer Nagri Chowrangi to Manghopir Road, up to Dedex Factory, with a total length of 1,800 metres and a cost exceeding Rs4.12 billion.
According to the Karachi Mayor, the project has been completed 100 percent and includes a modern road system with 10.25-metre-wide carriageways on both sides, curb blocks, medians, road markings, and an advanced drainage system.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that a water supply rehabilitation project has also been completed in the area at a cost of Rs86.89 million, involving the restoration of a 700-metre-long, 48-inch diameter water supply line.
He stated that under the water supply project, 16 T-connections were installed, around 4,000 leakages were repaired, 2,400 illegal connections were removed, and new 4-inch water lines were laid in 54 streets.
The Karachi Mayor said that the project also includes 53 double-arm streetlights, modern medians, curb blocks, sewerage drain winching, and improved drainage arrangements to provide better civic facilities to residents.
He said that in line with the public service agenda of the Pakistan Peoples Party, work on modern infrastructure, improved roads, water supply, and drainage projects is continuing rapidly across Karachi.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab added that under the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Karachi’s development journey is continuing, with the provision of quality municipal services and strengthening of the city’s basic infrastructure remaining top priorities.
