Multan (HRNW): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration officials have foiled an alleged attempt to send a female passenger to Europe through illegal routes and launched an investigation against an international human trafficking network.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the passenger, identified as Saira Naheed, was travelling to Turkey on a visit visa through flight number FZ340 when she was found suspicious during immigration clearance at Multan Airport.
During the initial investigation, it was revealed that the passenger allegedly intended to travel from Turkey to Italy through illegal means. FIA officials stated that she was in contact with an agent based in Faisalabad who allegedly collected money from her after promising to send her to Italy.
According to FIA, the agent received Rs1 million as an advance payment, while the remaining amount was to be paid after her arrival in Italy. The plan allegedly involved receiving the passenger through other members of the network in Turkey and later facilitating her illegal border crossing into Italy.
The passenger was offloaded and handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Multan for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Authorities said further investigations have been initiated against the alleged agent and members of the suspected network involved in the case.
