Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 3: Illegal Construction of Shops and Showroom on Residential Plot A-304 Raises Questions Over SBCA Officials’ Alleged Patronage and Corruption

KARACHI (HRNW): Another glaring example of rule violations and alleged corruption within the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has come to light. On residential Plot No. A-304, located in Scheme 24, Block 3, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, residential building regulations are being openly flouted with the illegal construction of shops and a commercial showroom.

According to available images and reports, shutters and large glass display frames have already been installed in the under-construction commercial-style structure on the residential plot, clearly indicating the illegal commercialization of residential land.

Expressing deep concern, local residents and citizens have pointed to the alleged patronage and corruption of relevant SBCA officials, specifically naming Shafi Magsi, for allowing these unauthorized developments. Citizens questioned the inaction of the authorities, stating that building bylaws are being violated in plain sight right under the nose of the SBCA, yet the department remains a silent spectator—asking where the self-proclaimed custodians of city governance are while such blatant violations go unchecked.
