Islamabad (HRNW)- Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the banned Joint Public Action Committee has responded to the proposal for the formation of a reconciliation commission in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and has also submitted its suggestions.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, Bilawal Bhutto said he had received a response to his letter proposing the establishment of a reconciliation commission from the Joint Public Action Committee.
According to Bilawal, the committee also forwarded several suggestions along with its response.
The PPP Chairman said that the loss of every precious life is a national tragedy and emphasized that his immediate priority is to help end the current crisis, provide relief to the affected people and restore normal life in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible.
Bilawal Bhutto welcomed the committee’s willingness to accept the proposed commission as a possible institutional way forward, noting that the commission has now been ratified by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and that he would carefully review the recommendations.
He further said that after receiving the committee’s response, he would consult the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who would seek initial feedback from the federal government and other relevant stakeholders to determine whether there is sufficient common ground to move forward with a consensus-based proposal.
