PPP Alleges Rigging in Second Phase of AJK Elections, Demands ECP Action

Muzaffarabad (HRNW)- The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has alleged rigging in the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections, urging the Election Commission to take immediate action on its complaints.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had so far failed to act on the party’s complaints regarding the first phase of the AJK elections.

He said that if timely action had been taken on those complaints, the credibility of the second phase of the elections being held today could have been restored.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the PPP reserves the right to stage protests and demand re-elections if necessary. He added that the party has already submitted several written complaints alleging ballot box stuffing and the illegal removal of PPP polling agents from polling stations during the ongoing polling process.

The PPP Chairman expressed hope that the Election Commission would immediately address the complaints and ensure transparency, fairness and credibility in the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections.
