Islamabad (HRNW): Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out a nationwide crackdown against drug trafficking, arresting eight suspects in eight separate operations and recovering 118.33 kilograms of narcotics worth more than PKR 17.3 million.
According to the ANF spokesperson, at Islamabad International Airport, officials recovered 5.038 kilograms of crystal meth (Ice) concealed inside an oven in the luggage of a passenger traveling to Bahrain.
At Peshawar International Airport, authorities arrested a passenger bound for Jeddah after recovering 3.953 kilograms of crystal meth (Ice) concealed in the passenger’s luggage.
In Karachi’s Federal B Area, ANF officials intercepted a parcel destined for Italy at a courier office and recovered 1.34 kilograms of heroin hidden inside disposable cups.
Near Ravi Toll Plaza in Lahore, ANF recovered 36 kilograms of hashish and 600 grams of opium from a vehicle and arrested one suspect.
In District Kech near Turbat, authorities seized 45 kilograms of opium, 9 kilograms of hashish, and 9.45 kilograms of crystal meth (Ice) from a vehicle, arresting two suspects during the operation.
On Super Highway, Karachi, one suspect was arrested after 6 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a motorcycle rider.
Near Village Abro in District Sukkur, ANF recovered 1 kilogram of hashish from a suspect.
In Clifton, Karachi, officials arrested another suspect near a public park and seized 950 grams of heroin from his possession.
The ANF spokesperson stated that cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the drug trafficking network.
