Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated that developments in Iran and Lebanon are closely linked, warning that the continued presence or occupation of Israeli forces in Lebanon would be viewed as a violation of the spirit of the memorandum of understanding reached between Iran and the United States.
Speaking to diplomats in Tehran, Araqchi said that any continued Israeli occupation in Lebanon is unacceptable and would contradict the objectives of the agreement. He emphasized that Iran would not accept any new Israeli military action against Lebanon.
The Iranian foreign minister said that the primary goal of the agreement between Tehran and Washington is to reduce regional tensions and establish peace across multiple fronts. According to him, the situation in Lebanon is an important component of that broader peace process.
Araqchi further stated that the official announcement marking the end of the conflict was made on Monday morning, Tehran time, following the finalization of the agreement between Iran and the United States. He added that the memorandum of understanding is scheduled to come into effect on Friday.
Expressing optimism about the future, Araqchi said the implementation of the agreement could contribute to greater regional stability. However, he stressed that all parties must fulfill their commitments and avoid actions that could undermine the peace process.
