WASHINGTON (HRNW) – A video of US President Donald Trump from Air Force One has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread criticism for his behavior towards a female journalist. The incident occurred during a brief media interaction when Catherine Lucey, a senior journalist from Bloomberg, asked the president a question.
President Trump abruptly interrupted her, told her to “be quiet,” and even used derogatory language, signaling her to stop speaking with his finger. His irritation stemmed from her question about the release of documents related to the infamous Jeffrey Epstein sex scandal.
Despite the disrespectful tone, Catherine Lucey maintained composure and did not react. Social media users condemned Trump’s behavior, calling it inappropriate and disrespectful towards women.
Bloomberg praised its reporter, calling her “professional,” and reaffirmed that their journalists will continue to ask questions in the public interest without fear.
In a similar incident, Trump also lashed out at ABC News reporter Mary Bruce, calling her a “very bad reporter” for questions related to the Epstein files. The White House defended the president’s conduct, claiming that tough questions sometimes warrant a “tough tone,” and alleged the reporter had behaved unprofessionally with colleagues.
