Reports Reveal Alleged 14-Point Iran-US Understanding Covering Ceasefire, Sanctions Relief and Economic Cooperation

Tehran (HRNW)- Reports published by Iranian and Arab media have revealed alleged details of a proposed 14-point memorandum of understanding currently under discussion between Iran and the United States, covering issues ranging from a ceasefire and sanctions relief to economic cooperation and the release of frozen assets.

According to the reports, the proposed framework includes an immediate and permanent ceasefire across multiple fronts, including Lebanon. The United States would also commit to respecting Iran’s sovereignty and refraining from interference in its internal affairs.

The reported document further proposes lifting the naval blockade within 30 days and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global energy shipments and international trade.

According to the reported terms, sanctions on Iran’s oil and petrochemical exports could be suspended, while cooperation on reconstruction and economic recovery projects worth up to $300 billion is also under consideration.

The proposed understanding reportedly includes a 60-day negotiation period to address issues related to Iran’s nuclear program and sanctions relief. During this period, the United States would refrain from imposing additional sanctions.

The document is also said to reaffirm Iran’s commitment not to develop nuclear weapons, while proposing the gradual release of approximately $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets.

No official confirmation has yet been issued by either Washington or Tehran regarding the authenticity or final status of the reported memorandum, and discussions are believed to remain under consideration.
