Washington (HRNW)- American broadcaster CNN has aired a special montage featuring repeated statements by US President Donald Trump regarding a possible agreement with Iran, reigniting debate over the credibility of his claims.
During the program, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper stated that Trump is once again asserting that a deal with Iran is close, but noted that this is far from the first time such a claim has been made.
According to Anderson Cooper, Trump has publicly claimed at least 39 times that a significant agreement, understanding, or diplomatic breakthrough with Iran was imminent or close to being finalized.
The montage included clips of Trump’s remarks from various occasions, where he expressed optimism about negotiations, a potential peace agreement, and diplomatic progress between Washington and Tehran.
CNN reported that Trump has recently reiterated that a strong and effective agreement with Iran is in its final stages and that meaningful progress could be announced soon.
However, critics argue that similar promises have been made repeatedly in the past without producing tangible outcomes. Supporters of the former president, on the other hand, maintain that ongoing diplomatic efforts could still result in progress and that negotiations remain active.
The CNN report and Anderson Cooper’s comments have sparked fresh discussion across US political circles about whether Trump’s latest assertions regarding Iran will lead to a concrete agreement or follow the pattern of previous unfulfilled predictions.
