KARACHI (HRNW) – The Rizvia Society Police, operating within the District Central West Zone of Karachi, successfully arrested an active street criminal following a police encounter near the riverbank in Jahangirabad, Nazimabad No. 1. The law enforcement officials recovered an illegal weapon and a stolen motorcycle from the suspect’s possession.
According to details released by the spokesperson for the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) District Central, Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan (PSP), a police patrol team signaled a suspicious motorcyclist to stop. Attempting to evade arrest, the suspect resisted and opened fire on the police party while trying to flee. The police team responded swiftly and effectively, subduing and apprehending the criminal on the spot. The arrested individual has been identified as Arman Hussain, son of Ishtiaq Hussain.
During the search, police recovered a 30-bore pistol loaded with a magazine containing 3 live rounds, alongside Rs 400 in cash. Furthermore, the 70cc motorcycle used by the suspect, bearing registration number KGG-5120, was confiscated. A verification of the vehicle’s records revealed that it was stolen, with a prior case (FIR No. 169/2026) registered under Section 381-A of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Gulberg Police Station.
Criminal record checks further disclosed that Arman Hussain is a habitual offender with a history of involvement in serious crimes. He has been previously booked in multiple cases, including FIR No. 129/2020, 63/2022, 266/2024, and the recent theft case 169/2026. Following the encounter, the Rizvia Society Police registered two fresh cases against him: FIR No. 209/2026 under Sections 353, 324, and 34 of the PPC for assaulting public servants and attempt to murder, and FIR No. 210/2026 under Section 23(1)A of the Sindh Arms Act for possessing unlicensed weapons. Further investigation into his criminal network is currently underway.
