KARACHI (HRNW) – Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Jr., grandson of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and son of Mir Murtaza Bhutto, while speaking to media representatives, leveled strong criticism against the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He stated that the metropolis of Karachi has been left far behind in terms of development due to the policies and governance of the PPP.
Engaging with media personnel, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Jr. expressed deep empathy for the Urdu-speaking citizens (the Mujahir community) of Karachi. Lamenting the current political landscape of the city, he pointed out that the Urdu-speaking population currently lacks a true leader and sincere representation. As a direct consequence of this leadership vacuum, he noted, the community has been pushed significantly backward within Pakistan, leaving their core grievances unaddressed.
Proposing a structural solution to Karachi’s administrative and political challenges, Bhutto Jr. emphasized that to protect the rights of the Urdu-speaking populace and eliminate their sense of deprivation, there is an urgent need to grant complete autonomy to every district and division within the city. He maintained that until power and autonomy are effectively devolved to the local level, the long-standing issues plaguing the metropolis cannot be resolved.
