Karachi (HRNW) — Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the launch of the Facial Recognition Attendance Monitoring and Evaluation System (FRAIMS) in government schools, a digital governance initiative aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and monitoring in the education sector.
The system will be launched in six districts of Sindh from August 17, 2026, with plans to gradually expand it to other districts across the province.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting of the School Education Department chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at the Chief Minister’s House. Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, School Education Secretary Zahid Abbasi and other senior officials attended the meeting.
Officials briefed the meeting that one district from each administrative division of Sindh has been selected for the first phase. All teaching and non-teaching staff in the selected districts have already been registered in the system, while preparations for implementation have been completed.
According to the briefing, FRAIMS is a facial recognition-based attendance and monitoring system designed to verify staff attendance in real time.
The Sindh government expects the system to improve transparency, accountability and effective monitoring of attendance in government schools.
