Karachi (HRNW)- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved a summary seeking an extension of the tenure of the judicial commission investigating the Mir Raza case, although the extension still requires ratification by the Sindh Cabinet.
According to Home Department sources, the Chief Minister has approved the proposed extension, while formal Cabinet approval is expected before a notification is issued.
Sources said the notification could be issued today or tomorrow after the Cabinet completes the ratification process. The commission is expected to continue its work during the interim period.
Meanwhile, the Registrar of the judicial commission said the commission had not yet received an official notification regarding the extension.
The Registrar explained that although the Chief Minister has approved the extension, the formal process requires approval from the Sindh Cabinet as well. The commission’s proceedings have been adjourned until October 2.
The judicial commission was initially constituted for a one-month period, which expired on September 27. Its continuation therefore requires the necessary approvals from the Chief Minister and the Sindh Cabinet.
The extension process is now underway, with the commission expected to resume its proceedings once the formal notification is issued.
