Islamabad (HRNW)- During the hearing of the foreign funding case in the Banking Court, the court was informed that two more accused have been added to the ongoing investigation against former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan and others.
The hearing was held in the court of Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar on Friday, where the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) sought more time from the court to submit a complete challan. According to the FIA, the investigation is still ongoing and a comprehensive challan will be submitted after that.
The court was informed that the case relates to alleged irregularities in foreign funding against PTI founder Imran Khan, PTI’s Siraj Ahmed and a private bank employee Faisal Qazi.
On this occasion, Special Prosecutor Wasiq Malik appeared in the court and said that a partial challan had been submitted in the case earlier, however, during further investigation, the involvement of two new accused was revealed who have now been formally included in the investigation.
The special prosecutor informed the court that the prosecution intends to submit a complete challan, combining all the accused and the investigation findings, instead of submitting a supplementary challan.
The court, considering the FIA’s request, adjourned the hearing till a later date.
