Serbia and Germany Urge Citizens to Leave Iran Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Belgrade/Berlin(HRNW)- Serbia and Germany have also urged their citizens to leave Iran immediately.

Serbia has urged its citizens in Iran to leave the country “as soon as possible” after US President Donald Trump threatened military action over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.

The Serbian government said in a statement that the directive was due to rising tensions and the deteriorating security situation.

The German embassy in Tehran renewed its call on German citizens to leave Iran on Friday amid growing threats in the region.

The embassy said the security situation in Iran and the entire region is extremely unstable and tense. Further tensions and military clashes cannot be ruled out. Further restrictions on air traffic, including flight cancellations and airspace closures, could be imposed at any time.

Several European countries, including the US, Poland and Belgium, have previously urged their citizens to leave Iran immediately.
