Questions Raised Over Use of National Resources as Luxury Jet Purchase Sparks Debate

Islamabad (HRNW)- Questions are being raised once again in public and social circles regarding the use of national resources. According to sources, the Pakistan Air Force currently has about 30 aircraft that are used for general transport and official travel purposes.

Sources say that in the past, the same aircraft were also used for foreign visits of high-ranking personalities, including visits to Geneva, Switzerland. It is being claimed that Rs 15 million was spent from the national exchequer on changing the interior of a particular aircraft, however, despite this, a new luxury private jet was purchased later, on which Rs 11 billion was allegedly spent.

According to critics, this move has come at a time when the country is facing serious economic difficulties. They say that a large number of the population in Pakistan is living below the poverty line, inflation and unemployment are increasing, while basic problems such as health, clean water and malnutrition persist.

Social circles say that when the national debt is constantly increasing and the people are yearning for basic amenities, the provision of expensive amenities to government figures is a question mark over priorities. Critics have demanded a transparent investigation and official explanation on the matter.

On the other hand, no official position has been taken on the matter at the government level yet, however, observers say that the people have the right to ask questions and transparency in the use of national treasury is inevitable.
