Constitutional Bench Dismisses Petition Against Ishaq Dar’s Address as Inadmissible

Lahore (HRNW) — A Ishaq Dar faced a legal challenge over his speech as Deputy Prime Minister, but the constitutional bench of the court declared the petition inadmissible.

Additional Attorney General Mohsin Qadir Shehwani informed the court that the Deputy Prime Minister’s role is largely ceremonial, and Ishaq Dar does not hold any constitutional or administrative powers. He noted that previous officeholders, including Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, had similarly served in the role without objections regarding powers or authority.

The Additional Attorney General requested the bench to dismiss the petition as inadmissible, and the court accordingly rejected the case.
