Sukkur (HRNW): Following a court order, a judicial magistrate conducted a raid on the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) office in Sukkur to recover two youths who had been in custody. One youth, held by NCCIA for the past two days, was successfully recovered, while the other remains missing.
According to reports, NCCIA officials allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 200,000 from the youths, threatening to register cases in Sukkur and Islamabad if the amount was not paid. During this period, Rs 30,000 in cash and Rs 20,000 through online payment were reportedly collected as bribe.
The judicial intervention came after the families of the two youths, who had been detained on allegations of online fraud, filed a petition. Advocate Hidayatullah Soomro requested the court to appoint a judicial reader to oversee the proceedings.
According to the petition, two days earlier, the NCCIA Sukkur team issued notices summoning the youths to the office, where they were taken into custody. During the raid, one youth was recovered, while the second was allegedly found missing.
It is noted that both youths were involved in easy load operations in Pano Aqil and were allegedly detained at the office on charges of online fraud.
