Karachi (HRNW)- The recent press conference by Ms. Azma Khan, sister of Imran Khan, revealing that Imran Khan faces severe threats to his life, is extremely alarming, distressing, and a matter of national concern. Hon. Kanwal Shauzab expressed deep concern and heartfelt anguish over this situation, stating that news of this nature regarding a former elected Prime Minister and public leader should be a moment of accountability for any responsible state.
She raised her hands in prayer to Almighty Allah, asking for Imran Khan’s complete health, protection, and long life. She also strongly stated that it is unacceptable in an Islamic democratic Pakistan for a former Prime Minister to be treated in such a manner, which is not only inappropriate but intolerable.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Women Wing Pakistan strongly condemns the treatment of Imran Khan’s sisters.
Forcing them out of a vehicle at Chakri, leaving them in a deserted area, and denying them access to Adiala Jail is a blatant violation of human dignity, women’s respect, and constitutional rights. This action contradicts democratic traditions, moral values, and state responsibilities.
Under the special directive of President Hon. Kanwal Shauzab, the central leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Women Wing, along with Vice President Saba Afzal, provincial, divisional, and district leadership, senior leaders, and a large number of workers, reached Adiala Jail out of deep concern for their leader’s health.
Although leadership and workers were not granted access to the jail, women peacefully and orderly protested outside the premises within constitutional boundaries, demanding the protection of their leader’s fundamental human rights.
Imran Khan’s health, particularly his eyesight, has become extremely serious, with his vision reportedly reduced by approximately 85%.
In this situation, immediate, transparent, and credible medical examination, the formation of an independent and impartial medical board, and provision of quality treatment without delay are imperative.
President Hon. Kanwal Shauzab and the central Women Wing Pakistan present the following demands to the relevant authorities and state institutions:
1.Imran Khan should be provided immediate access to the highest standard of medical care, including a comprehensive examination by an independent and credible medical board.
2.A detailed, transparent, and verified medical report regarding his health should be presented to his family and the nation.
3.His family must be granted full, unrestricted access to meet him.
4.The constitutional right to protest for women and all political workers must be fully respected, and any unnecessary obstructions must be stopped immediately.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Women Wing Pakistan reiterates its commitment to continue its peaceful and democratic struggle for the supremacy of the Constitution, the rule of law, and the protection of fundamental human rights.
