KARACHI (HRNW) – In a swift action, Sub-Inspector Wali Muhammad, Station Officer (SO) at Qayyumabad Zaman Town Traffic Check Post, intercepted a minibus bearing a fake registration number (R0014) today at around 4:00 PM.
According to police sources, the vehicle was stopped following a citizen’s tip-off. Upon checking the documents, it was revealed that the papers listed the vehicle as a Mazda truck, while verification on the Excise Department’s official website confirmed that the registration number actually belonged to a Toyota Caravan car.
The minibus was emptied of passengers, and all fares were returned to them immediately.
Subsequently, the vehicle was impounded beneath the Qayyumabad Bridge at the Zaman Town Traffic Check Post for further investigation.
Following consultation with traffic police officers, legal action is expected to be taken against the owner and driver of the vehicle.
