KU holds competition of Husn e Azaan, Ramadan reception

Karachi (HRNW)- The Department of Quran and Sunnah of the University of Karachi arranged a dignified ceremony titled Competition of Husn-e-Azaan and Reception of Ramadan at the KU’s Audio-Visual Center on Wednesday. The event was presided over by KU’s Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, and the member of the KU’s Syndicate Sahibzada Moazzam Ali Qureshi attended as the chief guest.

The welcome address was delivered by the faculty member Dr Syed Ghazanfar Ahmed, highlighting the virtues, preparation, and spiritual significance of Ramadan.

On this occasion, distinguished scholars including Allama Dr Rizwan Naqshbandi, Professor Dr Abdul Hai Madni, Allama Shafiq Bastavi, and Sahibzada Tasleem Raza delivered insightful speeches on the greatness of Ramadan, the spiritual impact of the Azaan, and the importance of practicing Islamic teachings.

The speakers congratulated the Department of Quran and Sunnah for organizing such a purposeful and faith-inspiring program and emphasized the continuation of such activities.

The Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies Professor Dr Zahid Ali Zahidi presented a comprehensive summary of the program, shedding light on the spiritual, social, and educational effects of the Azaan.

In his presidential address, KU VC Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi eloquently stated that Ramadan should not be confined to a single month; rather, its blessings and Islamic teachings should be made a part of our lives throughout the year, with every moment spent in obedience to Allah Almighty.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the chairperson Professor Dr Zeenat Haroon expressed gratitude to all esteemed guests and emphasized that such events provide practical training in punctuality, discipline, and steadfastness on the straight path. Afterwards, a collective prayer was led by Dr Mufti Imran-ul-Haq Kalyanvi.

Shields were distributed among participants who performed outstandingly in the Husn-e-Azaan competition.
