Colombo (HRNW) – During an official visit to Sri Lanka, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Sri Lankan Home and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anand Wijepala, where both sides agreed to enhance mutual coordination to curb illegal immigration, drug trafficking, cybercrime, and financial fraud.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the interior ministries of both countries, improving intelligence sharing, and enhancing joint strategies for counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics efforts. Pakistan also offered specialized training opportunities for Sri Lankan police officers at the National Police Academy, while both ministers emphasized that officer-exchange programs would help improve the operational capacity of their law-enforcement agencies.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral relations in security and law-enforcement sectors, with invitations extended for future official visits to continue dialogue and cooperation.
