Army Chief Asim Munir Holds Key Security Meetings on Sidelines of Munich Security Conference

Munich (HRNW) – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Force, visited Germany from February 12 to 14, where he attended several high-level meetings on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

During the visit, he met Marco Rubio to discuss matters of mutual interest, the global and regional security situation, and cooperation in counter-terrorism. Meetings were also held with German officials including Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, Chancellor’s adviser Gunter Satter, and Chief of Defence Carsten Breuer, where bilateral defence cooperation and contemporary security challenges were discussed.

The Army Chief also met Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire, Chief of Joint Staff of the Brazilian Armed Forces, and Rodolphe Haykal, Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, focusing on strengthening bilateral military cooperation and promoting regional and global peace.
