Expert Shares Simple Tip to Identify Halal Meat; Public Urged to Check Color and Report Suspicions

Lahore (HRNW)- Identification of halal meat has been a major issue for citizens, especially doubts about the quality of meat sold in hotels and markets. Veterinary expert Dr. Muhammad Ali has provided a simple and effective solution to this problem for the public.

According to Dr. Muhammad Ali, the color of meat from an animal slaughtered in a halal manner is bright cherry red, while the color of meat obtained in a non-halal manner or suspect meat is dark red or sometimes bluish.

He said that the color of donkey meat is particularly dark and has a bluish element in it that helps in easy identification.

Experts’ suggestion:
If a citizen has doubts about the meat provided at a hotel or meat shop, he can get the meat scientifically verified through ELISA or PCR test.

Dr. Muhammad Ali urged the public to be careful while buying meat and carefully examine the color, smell and texture of the meat. If in doubt, contact legal authorities.
