Bhakkar (HRNW) – A van driver was severely beaten by miscreants in the Barkatwala area of Bhakkar after he intervened to stop them from harassing college students, police said.
According to authorities, the driver, identified as Qasim, confronted the suspects when they attempted to harass the students. Enraged by his intervention, the accused reportedly called additional accomplices and subjected him to brutal torture. Reports indicate that four individuals assaulted the driver before fleeing the scene, leaving him critically injured.
Taking immediate notice of the incident, DPO Bhakkar Shahzad Rafique ordered the registration of a case and directed police teams to conduct raids for the arrest of the suspects. He stated that a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against those who harass women and girls and assured that the culprits will soon be brought to justice.
