Oslo (HRNW)- A powerful explosion occurred near the US Embassy in Oslo, the capital of Norway, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement authorities.
According to international media reports, a large police contingent reached the scene shortly after the blast, which occurred near the entrance of the embassy building.
Initial reports indicate that no injuries were reported, however several vehicles and parts of the embassy building sustained minor damage due to the explosion. Officials at the US Embassy in Oslo have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
In a statement, Norwegian police said that the exact cause of the explosion remains unknown, and it is also unclear who may be responsible for the incident at this stage. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the blast.
