Trump Says US Doesn’t Need British Aircraft Carriers in Iran War

Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has said that the United States does not need Britain’s aircraft carriers in the ongoing war against Iran, claiming that the US has already won the war.

In a message posted on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that Britain is considering sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East, but added that the United States no longer requires such assistance.

His statement came after the British Ministry of Defense announced that Britain’s modern aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales had been placed on high alert.

Addressing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump said that the US does not need allies who join after winning the war. However, he also described Britain as a great ally, adding that the United States would remember its support.

The remarks are being viewed as a sign of growing tension between the United States and Britain, particularly as the US and Israel have been conducting joint military operations against Iran since February 28.

Although Britain has refused to directly participate in the war, it has allowed the US to use certain military facilities for limited defensive purposes, including RAF Fairford and the Diego Garcia military base in the Indian Ocean.

Speaking in parliament, Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that Britain is not joining the US and Israeli attacks and is instead focusing on protecting its national interests and citizens.

Meanwhile, opposition to the war is also growing within Britain. According to a recent survey, a large number of British citizens consider the war unnecessary, while thousands of protesters gathered outside the US Embassy in London to demonstrate against the conflict.
