Lahore (HRNW)- A 35-year-old woman, Rubina, died due to alleged violence by her in-laws in the provincial capital’s Green Town area. A sad incident has taken place in the Green Town area of Lahore where a 35-year-old woman, Rubina, died due to alleged violence by her in-laws. The police have launched a formal investigation into the incident and have started exhuming the body to find out the facts.
The victim’s brother, Muhammad Shahbaz, has taken the stand in his application to the police that Rubina was married to a man named Talal a year ago. The brother alleges that the in-laws brutally tortured and killed his sister yesterday and later tried to suppress the matter by calling it a ‘heart attack’.
According to the petitioner, the accused had buried Rubina quietly, but there were clear signs of violence on the victim’s face. The relatives have approached the police for justice, to which police officials say that the exhumation and postmortem are being completed to confirm the real cause of death and torture.
The police further say that if the postmortem report proves torture, a formal case will be registered against the accused on the request of Muhammad Shahbaz and legal action will be taken.
