Fruit Prices Surge in Karachi During Ramadan, Citizens Demand Price Control

Karachi (HRNW)- With the onset of Ramadan, a sudden increase in fruit prices has been seen across the city.

According to citizens, bananas are being sold at Rs 400 per dozen, apples at Rs 600 per kilo, melons at Rs 400 per kilo, quinoa at Rs 600 per dozen and chico at Rs 500 per kilo.

The public said that during Ramadan, fruit sellers increase prices to increase their profits, which has increased the burden of inflation on ordinary citizens.

Experts say that heat and shortage of imported fruits are also a reason for the increase in prices, however, citizens have demanded that the relevant authorities control prices so that they remain within everyone’s reach during Ramadan.
