Islamabad (HRNW)- In view of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for a protest in Islamabad on September 27, the party’s political committee has directed Punjab office-bearers and lawmakers to complete preparations and mobilize workers.
According to sources, PTI has also directed its lawmakers to collect Rs500,000 each for the protest and ensure the mobilization of party workers. The planned visit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to Punjab has also reportedly been postponed due to preparations for the protest.
Sources said lawmakers and workers from 10 districts of Central Punjab will gather in Lahore. Depending on the situation, a decision will then be made on whether to hold the protest in Lahore or move the workers to Islamabad.
Lawmakers and workers from other districts of Punjab are expected to travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while lawmakers from South Punjab will reach Peshawar a day before the protest.
Meanwhile, PTI leaders from Central Punjab said preparations were underway, alleging that police were conducting raids at the homes of party workers and leaders.
