Karachi (HRNW)- Eminent religious scholar and former chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has announced the amounts of Sadaqah-ul-Fitr, Fidyah, and Kaffara for Ramadan 1447 AH (2026).
This year, the minimum Sadaqah-ul-Fitr has been fixed at Rs. 300 per person based on the wheat nisab. Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman advised that financially able individuals may pay Fitrah and Fidyah according to the nisab of wheat, barley, dates, or raisins so that greater assistance can be provided to the needy.
Fitrah and Fidya Details (2026)
- Wheat Nisab (2 kg flour): Rs. 300 per person
- Barley Nisab (4 kg): Rs. 1,160 per person
- Dates Nisab (4 kg): Rs. 2,800 per person
- Raisins Nisab (4 kg): Rs. 7,200 per person
Kaffara for Deliberately Breaking a Fast
The expiation requires feeding 60 poor people twice daily.
- Wheat basis: Rs. 18,000
- Barley basis: Rs. 69,600
- Dates basis: Rs. 168,000
- Raisins basis: Rs. 432,000
The scholar clarified that Kaffara applies only to those who are chronically ill or physically unable to fast. Temporary illness or travel requires only the missed fasts to be completed later without financial compensation.
