Karachi, Pakistan (HRNW) The Kemari Maripur Police, acting on secret intelligence, conducted a targeted operation and arrested a two-member car-riding gang involved in stealing electronic parts from vehicles in upscale areas of the city.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Zohaib and Hassan. Police stated that the suspects carried out thefts in areas including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Defence, Bahadurabad, and Nazimabad, and sold the stolen parts at Hub Chowki.
The gang frequently used rented cars and targeted valuable vehicles parked outside homes, stealing electronic panels and other parts. Zohaib has over nine cases registered against him for robbery, theft, and weapons offenses, while Hassan, an Afghan national, is also under criminal record verification.
Police also recovered a vehicle in use and firearms from the suspects. Investigations are ongoing, and a case has been registered against them at Maripur Police Station. SSP Kemari, Amjad Ahmed Sheikh, confirmed that footage of the suspects has also been circulated on social media.
