Karachi (HRNW)- Citizens are suffering due to the shortcomings in the e-challan system of the traffic police. According to private TV channel Geo News, the e-challan system was implemented in the city in October last year, but despite the passage of more than three months, the shortcomings of the system have not been fixed and wrong challans are being sent to citizens.
In the complaints of citizens, it was said that despite wearing a seat belt, they were sent challans for not wearing a seat belt, while in the picture in the challan sent by the traffic police, the citizens are clearly seen wearing a seat belt.
Similarly, the number plates of many citizens’ vehicles are being used by other people on their own vehicles, for which challans are being received at the addresses of the original owners.
Citizens say that despite claims of installing modern cameras, this system has not proven effective and citizens are being subjected to illegal challans. In the past few days, a citizen had also received a wrong challan worth Rs 50,000, which caused serious concern.
Experts say that the traffic police should immediately correct the shortcomings of the system so that citizens do not face unnecessary financial and legal difficulties.
