Karachi (HRNW)- The ADJ 3 East court has granted bail to senior journalist Shahab Salman. The court granted bail on the submission of bonds of Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 in both FIRs and ordered his release.
In FIR No. 48 registered by the plaintiff Zahid Zafar at the Model Colony police station, Shahab Salman and his accomplice Ameeruddin were accused of assault. However, it could not be proven in the court that Shahab Salman had taken any action against the law.
The defendant’s lawyers Liaquat Ali Gabol Advocate and Amjad Ali Advocate told the court that there was a discrepancy between the plaintiff’s FIR and the MLO report, where the FIR mentions a bullet wound but there is no trace of a bullet in the report.
The court also confirmed the interim bail of Ameeruddin along with Shahab Salman.
It should be noted that during the incident, the plaintiff and other people tried to kidnap Shahab Salman and opened fire, in response to which Shahab Salman opened fire and himself appeared at the police station.
On Friday, Karachi Union of Journalists General Secretary Liaquat Kashmiri, RTI activist Azmat Khan and other journalists were also present at ADJ 3 East in support of Shahab Salman’s bail.
