Cairo, Egypt (HRNW) – The World Health Organization (WHO) is using World Humanitarian Day to honour humanitarian and health workers who continue providing lifesaving services despite serious security threats. WHO’s Eastern Mediterranean office stressed that healthcare and humanitarian personnel must be protected so they can treat wounded people, deliver medicines and maintain essential health services during emergencies.
