Karachi (HRNW)- A four-storey dilapidated building collapsed near Hajiani Mosque on Nayaabad Street No. 3 in Lyari, causing damage to nearby houses. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
According to details, the building collapsed suddenly during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. Several hours after the incident, government machinery and staff had reportedly not reached the area, prompting local residents to begin removing the debris themselves.
According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, the building had been declared dilapidated about a month earlier and was evacuated after residents were shifted out. The relevant agency had also instructed that the building be demolished, but no action had reportedly been taken.
Fortunately, the building was unoccupied at the time of the collapse, preventing any casualties.
